Still #2

Still #3

These are the first 3 official screenshots from the dailies of Barry Worthington's first feature-length film, Cape Wonder! Cape Wonder's production is still in progress, with about 20% of the film recorded and near-edited.

Cape Wonder is about an outcast nature documentarian named Bud Williams who tries to redeem his reputation by disproving a new, rising urban legend involving a local, abandoned ocean-themed amusement park named "Cape Wonder" before the public’s imagination runs amok.

In these stills, we find our main character, Bud (played by Barry Worthington), arriving at the abandoned park. In Still 1, Bud is trying to record his first selfie stream video on the fictional new live-streaming platform, ViewYou. In the video, he briefly explains the history of the park, elaborating that he loves seeing nature reclaim this man-made construction, and announces his mission to set out to disprove this new urban legend. The Cinematographer for this shot was Michael Nannetti.

In still 2, Bud sets out on the lake with his raft, and we only begin to get an idea in this still of just how large and vast the lake is. Knowing that supposedly under the water is an array of what was meant to be underwater glass tunnels that served as observation areas for what was meant to be an immense aquarium may make the shot even more unsettling. The Cinematographer for this shot was Colby Moore.

Finally, in still 3, as the sun has started to go down and the darkness of twilight begins creeping over the lake, Bud is in the middle of trying to disprove the urban legend...when he gets a phone call from his girlfriend...who is shocked to find he's not at work like he's supposed to be, particularly given their financial situation. The Cinematographer for this shot was Markus Spencer.

This is being post in the wake of Worthington and team hosting a panel and booth about the film at Awesome Con 2025, which just concluded yesterday.

We will be resuming production very soon!

Please bear in mind there may be more work upon the footage these stills represent, and this is an evolving project.
